The Bug Gals are a small business that was founded in 2023, by two lifelong best friends, Ashley and Gwen. After working in separate fields after college, they decided to merge their mutual interests of insects, nature, and other critters with their accumulated knowledge in the entomology field and a life long passion of learning about unique and interesting bugs. Their desire to fill the gap in the education of nature and working against the misinformation and negative reputations surrounding our planet’s cutest creepy crawlies spawned the women-owned bug business you see today! Their goal is to better our understanding of our vast ecosystem though learning and hands-on encounters with some of our world’s most important creatures for a brighter and safer future.

Ashley has a background in biology and brings her passion for the natural world to parties and events. She is our head of scheduling, communications, and our lead bug keeper! Her favorite bugs to work with are arachnids because of their bold personalities. In her spare time she enjoys getting outside to look for wildlife.

Gwen brings her experience in the field of sociology and social work. She is our head of marketing, content creation, merchandise and graphic design. Her favorite bugs are moths and banana slugs because of their funky appearances and unique lovability.  In her free time she likes to create art and stay active through sports.
